It was very quiet as we sat eating our picnic and Poppel got a drink of fresh water from the Alt
Druidh burn. It began to get a little brighter overhead as we set out on the fairly steep climb up onto Coire Gorm and Sron
a Lairige.
The walk to the summit was done against quite a strong wind but the views were superb over towards
Ben Macdui and down to the cliffs of An Garbh Coire. It was also clear looking South East towards Cairn Toul and over Lochan
Uaine.
There were still plenty of large snow patches in the gullies. Jills knee was playing up a little
so we just took our time on the way back down towards the Lairig Ghru and back over to the Chalamain Gap. On way back down
we saw a single white Reindeer on the slopes of Castle Hill. Got back to the car and drove into Aviemore for some provisions
before going back to the bungalow and setting the BBQ up for a well deserved feed.
The next day was spent taking things easy. Poppel was taken for a walk round Dalfaber on what was
a bright and breezy morning before breakfast then afterwards we walked into town. We had a look at the new swimming pool in
Aviemore but it was £8 each to swim so we decided to give it a miss and go to the Dalfaber Country club tommorow afternoon.
This afternoon we sat outside Mackenzies enjoying a drink in the sunshine. Tonight we went to the Cairngorm Hotel for the
Buffet. It was very good and as usual I ate far too much. We walked back home over the railway and down to the Old Brig Inn
for a nightcap. Got back and took Poppel for a quick walk before bed.

Friday 24th June was a nice warm and bright day as we had our breakfast and got our things sorted
ready for todays walk.
We drove up to Glenmore and set out through the forest and onto the path leading up to Meall a Bhuachaille
(810m). It is a long steady climb up a path which has been man made and the conservation people were still working on it as
we went past and onto the saddle between Meal a Bhuachaille and Creagan Gorm (732m). The sun was out and it was very
warm but we reached the summit within an hour. We sat down to have a cup of tea and a bite to eat but we were then attacked
by all sorts of insects so we admired the great views from here for a shorter time than planned then made our way West and
down towards the Ryvoan Pass.
