Queens 3 Livingston 3 (Sat 21st March 2009)
Dobbie was quality today, an excellnt performance and two top quality goals. I would describe them as typical Stephen
Dobbie goals, he rarely hits the ball high over the target. Barry Wilson opened the scoring with a real screamer and he has
certainly been a worthwhile signing for us. I left Palmerston gutted at only getting 1 point and a few of our defenders
should be having nightmares in their sleep tonight after letting a 3-1 lead slip with only a couple of minutes to go, how
many times do Queens do this ? As has been stated why oh why does Chisholm persist with 3-5-2 , does he not know that Livi
have a quick young striker in Leigh Grifiths who would certainly exploit our lack of pace with a back 3. At least he changed
it after watching Andy Aitken suffer for 30 minutes but it should have been Barr going off and Andy playing in a back 4. Craig
Barr is a liability and along with the under performing Ryan McCann and an ineffective Tosher were the weak links in the team. When
we have big Sean playing we are a far more dangerous side in attack and it proved to be that way again but how many times
was he fouled in the first half without the incompetant referee (Crawford Allan) noticing. The ref was very poor and in the
second half Paul Burns commited a clear proffesional foul on a livi player and got away with it and before that Griffiths
handled the ball as he surged into the box with the ref getting a clear view and he let play go on. He was shocking !! We
should have had 3 points in the bag and our 1st Div future for next season all but secured until that final mad few minutes.
Poor defending allowed Livi to get a cross in that Winters connected with but Robinson in goals made a mess of it and it squirmed
in . Dont want to condemn the keeper as he had a good game on the whole. Then we gave away a penalty when the striker was
going away from goals, plain stupid. Our next league game is at home to Ross County in two weeks time and a home win will
probably see us safe as Clyde look nailed on for bottom spot and we have got a few points ahead of Airdrie with a better goal
difference. Lets hope Dobbie is still with us next season as he is a class act and it could well turn out to be a long
season without his goals to cheer us up. Was good to see all the past players out on the pitch today.
